Bologna and Emilia Romagna

While we were living in Florence in 2006 we took two day trips to Bologna, barely an hours' train ride away.

Speaking of proticoes, the city boasts the longest one in the world, some 666 continuous arches for a total of some 2 miles, which runs from Porta Saragozza to the Santuario di Madonna di San Luca.

For dining, try Rosarose Bistrot (Via Clavature 18/b), located just off the Piazza Maggiore. In fact, we think it was their Rosarose Café on Piazza Maggiore where we had had our caffe earlier in the day. Anyway we each had a delicious salad (“insalata”) with a Lugana white wine. (March 2006)
