We fell in love with Siena, the heart of Tuscany, the first time we set foot on the Piazza del Campo in 1994. In fact I began this website just a few years later, intending to help other travelers find th esame sense of peace of mind that we did then -- and still do today.
Although Siena has always been our favorite spot to spend time in Italy, in 2006 we have found ourselves living in Florence. The reason? My wife Susan began a year-long course in pastry and baking techniques at a culinary school in Florence. After spending a wonderful fall in 2005 in Siena we moved to a small apartment on Via dei Servi, just north of the Duomo, in January of 2006.
You can follow our experience of living in Siena and Florence online, just click here. .
From Florence we moved to Paris so Susan could attend Le Cordon Bleu.
But that's another story.
Buon viaggio e divertirsi moltissimo!

PS Here's a little movie I put together of old images of Siena juxtaposed with the same view taken today.
